The confidence is Confidencing

We hosted our first-ever confidence camp day on the bay this week, and it was soo good.

We were lucky enough to have 18 athletes for our one-day pop-up camp for athletes. 16 families who trusted us enough with their kiddos for a day on the water. Something we don’t take lightly here in The Hive. Our thankfulness cup runneth over.

We were also lucky enough to be hosted by Island View Waterfront. This place is spectacular. Being a “city” girl myself, I always feel so very lucky to get an opportunity to be on the water. There’s healing there. And Island View is just the spot to do it. The property sits on the Chesapeake Bay with views you wouldn’t believe. Here, I’ll show you some…

Sitting in a chair, hearing the waves lightly tap the shoreline, the birds talking, fish jumping, breeze flowing…I could do that all day. But for camp, we had a fun-filled agenda planned for the day.

We started in our journals, working through a few mindset concepts that help build confidence and unlock athletes. The first, and core, concept we taught was mindfulness. We then leveled up into understanding how the brain works with something The Hive likes to call “The Zones".

Next up on the agenda was KAYAKING!! And goodness this just stole the show. Confidence Unlocked. You could actually see it.

From kayaking, we headed back to shore where we had the pleasure of having Coach Lisa Still speak to the athletes about the importance of fueling their bodies and minds to give them an advantage in their sport. Coach even baked homemade protein muffins for us to enjoy. And they were delicious! Click here for the recipe.

After some snacks, we headed over to a new shoreline for some yoga. Coach Sierra met the crew where they were skill-wise and stretched them out real good. Stretching seems to be the one activity thrown off the list of to-dos when preparing the body, but the benefits are just too good to skip!

From yoga, we went back into the bay for a dip to cool off.

And the last item on the agenda to hit before relaxing and enjoying the spot was our collegiate athlete Q & A with Coach Mia Salvatierra. Coach Mia grew up in the Fallston area playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse throughout high school. She then went on to play lacrosse at Washington College, where she was honored with the role of captain both her junior and senior years. Her story is one to be shared and we are so thankful she shared it with us. The impact a talk like this can have on our athletes is something special.

This camp proved to be a winner in our book and will absolutely be offered again. We loved it so much and had so many parents asking for a day on the bay that we are planning one for parents this fall, so more to come!

This place builds you up. It heals. And we are just so thankful to have experienced it.

Confidence Unlocked!
